An ongoing experiment in film photography, ‘There & Not Again’ is a series of images primarily of landscapes and architectural features which play with scale, reflections, reality and rotation. When out taking these images, the intention is to find real places and abstract them through the photograph’s framing and the rotation of the displayed image. Photography is seen as a medium of truth-telling, however in the digital age we have become acutely aware of photomanipulation, still, we want to believe what we see. This, for me, is an opportunity to play around with the perception of truth and reality through the camera lens, unedited but still uncanny.
